Artist Bio

Hello

My name is Walt Sorensen Owner and photographer at Walt Sorensen. I'm glad to take a moment to tell you about me and our company. We are a Advertising photography, Commercial photography, and Micro-Stock Photography Company. We are glad you are here to consider us to fulfill your photographic needs.

I started into photography some 20+ years ago as hobbyist with a growing passion for photography. I loved how singular images could tell complex stories that developed in the viewer's mind. This passion drove me to study photography and resulted in a degree in Visual Art and Design with an emphasis in photography, and eventually to open a professional photography company.

Since that time I have received many professional awards and been involved in number of group gallery exhibits. In 2005 I was selected to participate in a artist exchange with Nantou, Taiwan, Where I was privileged to present a lecture about my photography to the Photographic Society of Nantou. Along with been selected as an artist delegate I was also commissioned by West Valley City to create a "Portrait' of the city with the E-Center as a focal point.

A recent exhibit was part of the 2007 legend of hidden hollow produced by Brolly arts. My contribution was a 27 piece outdoor photographic installation called "Landscapes including the hand of Man." The installation was a reflection on things left behind by people in State parks, National Parks, International Parks, and historical locations. The piece is a reminder to pick up our trash and help keep our world a beautiful place.

I have worked as an in-house photographer and photoeditor for several local companies to produce specific projects. After leaving my most recent in-house project I decided to broaden my market and opened a business to provide Commercial photography services.

I consider myself a photographic generalist where my photography covers a broad range of subjects and styles; from landscapes and portraiture to product and lifestyle. I utilize a wide array of equipment to produce my work depending on the needs of my projects; from traditional 4x5 view cameras to the latest digital technology.

The style I shoot the most reflects my ambition to create a story that speaks to the viewer. Simple scenes with little twists in the details that capture "A slice of life."

To better serve my clients I have several photographers who work with me on specific projects; either to provide a specific skill or to be a second shooter. Our team of photographers provide our clients with photography our clients love.
